Course Description
1.
Introduction to psychology
Objective: This course is designed for anyone who is interested in becoming a psychologist and discovering more
about interaction with others by introducing the fundamental concepts from psychology
in the context of the every day life events and relationships. An introduction
to the study of human behaviour and mental processes provides you with some basic knowledge in contemporary psychological
theories and significant findings used to explain human behavior in context.
2. Research methods in psychology
Objective: This course is designed to develop you with
psychological quantitative and research skills
through practical experience of designing experiments in several different fields of Psychology. Introduction to statistical
principles and methods provides you with the basic background in research design
and data analysis and the foundation for more advanced statistical procedures.
3. Developmental Psychology
Objective: This course provides an overview of major aspects of infant and child
cognitive and socio-emotional development, with Piaget’s theory and with newer theoretical approaches. An introduction
to developmental psychology from a life-span perspective provides a general orientation of personal growth and adjustment
to enable you to develop adaptive social behaviour and effective coping skills.
4. Psycho-health
Counselor in China (中國心理保健資訊)
Objective: After this course, student can sit for the examination for the certificate
of psycho-health counselor issue by the People Republic of China. The certificate is a must in PRC if one would work as a
psycho-health counselor. Students should be reminded that this course is conduct in Chinese.
5. Introduction
to Hypnosis
Objective: This course is for those who is interested in hypnosis, many basic concept will be introduced and self-hypnosis
skill will be included.
6. The study
of Hypnotherapy
Objective: Students need to take Introduction to hypnosis before taking this
course. This course will cover different styles of skills and techniques of hypnosis for therapeutic use.
7. Clinical
hypnotherapy
Objective: Students need to take Introduction to hypnosis, the study of hypnotherapy
before taking this course. This course led students to the world of therapy by using hypnotherapy. It is more on practical
use rather theory. Students finished the Introduction to hypnosis, the study of hypnotherapy and the practical hypnotherapy
will be qualified as a hypnotherapist. After this course, student can sit for the examination for the diploma of Clinical
Hypnotherapy which leads to a practical hypnotherapist.
